Potty Phone
Remember how I said my dorm hated me… it’s official now. I dropped my phone in the toilet… don’t ask me how it just fell. Cause I bring my phone in with me to listen to music in the shower so I don’t take a half hour shower. So I was completely without a phone yesterday. But I got a new one today! Originally I was going to have to wait till thanksgiving break to get my phone for next semester but do to my idiocy of dropping my phone I got it today. It’s a BlackBerry Bold. It’s cool and it’ll be going abroad with me next semester! Yay!

Pictures and music funness
Get ready for a fun blog of pictures and music!
First, a lovely picture of my current outline for the Quest Quartet…. Although it might not be a quartet much longer.
Spiffy right. I felt the need to tell my roommate what it was so she wouldn’t think I was crazy. And it is quite small since I have no intention of moving my posters that continue to fall off my wall… most of them are staying so I decided not to move them. But any way this is a lot nicer cause I can sit at my desk and work at it.
Now today I logged into my AIFS account to see if all of my application was received and low and behold…
The most rewarding sight I’ve seen in a while. Everything was received and a few hours after I checked I got an email saying I was accepted by AIFS to study abroad all I need to do now is wait while the University of Limerick decides on if they want me or not. But I’m pretty confident that I’ll get in.
Now I’ve had a bunch and a bunch of stuff happening lately. You know the whole scramble to apply to study abroad. Then a few mind-terms and now *drum roll* I’m applying to transfer to London Metropolitan University. Cool right? They have a forensics program and I can get a “joint-degree” aka a double major. Which I’ve just registered for at Kean, funny cause I’m leaving soon. And I have a job now. I’ll be babysitting about 15 minutes off campus for the same kids I do aver the summer. So this meant I needed a car so my brother brought home the car and I drove to school today. It was super weird driving myself cause normally my mum takes me back (I did have her write me directions). I knew what the route looked like I just didn’t know all of the exit names/numbers. But I got back and got pretty much the closet spot someone parking overnight can get. It’s right on the barrier that you’re supposed to park behind. So I was excited. When I got to my dorm I ended up reading a post by The Oatmeal (if you don’t know the site visit it NOW!). And this comic I totally get cause I wish it were true.

The state of your life is nothing more than a reflection of your state of mind
“The state of your life is nothing more than a reflection of your state of mind” ~Dr. Wayne Dyer
Now… incase you all haven’t gotten it I’m pretty much the most positive person I know. I take a lot of shit and still come out on top. Why? Because Karma aka what goes around comes around. If people are shitty to me that’s there issue and they’ll have to deal with the consequences when they come. So that’s why I care very little about other’s opinions. Be my guest and bad mouth me, I really don’t care. Also I’ve gotten my fair share of rejections (with my novel and college) but that’s all good, sure I cried a wee bit but I keep positive because if you’re positive and send out positive vibes then you’ll attract positive things. Besides smiling and being positive is a heck of a lot more fun then frowning al day. Finally all of my positiveness in negative spots and my build up of karma points is getting me places. No surprise by the way.
I’m going abroad next semester. That makes me super excited. I’ve been preparing my application (for the 3rd time) for NYU. Now all of that has been going smoothly. BUT!!!!! I’ve decided to give up on my dream of going to NYU…. Actually let me change that a bit cause I’m not given up entirely on NYU…. Um let’s see…. I’ve changed my dream (yes I like the way change sounds there). I’ve decided NYU shall be where I get my PhD in History. Yay for me! And for my final two years of college I’m applying to London Metropolitan University. Pretty cool right. They even have a Forensic Science major!! Whoop! And I’ll be in England, somewhere I’ve always wanted to live. So I’m applying there… sorry NYU…. And I’ll be able to get an internship with the London Metropolitan Police. SO my new plan is to live over there finish college there and work for a year or two in the London forensic department of the PD then transfer to the NYPD move back to the states and start my PhD! Whoop! And I’m so super hyper and excited about this!
Now that I’ve talked your ear off I’m done! Hahaha. Have a fantastic day!

My Dorm Hates Me
My dorm really honestly hates me…. Now don’t get me wrong I love living on campus and my dorm this year pretty much kicks ass. It’s apartment style so I’ve got a living room, a full size fridge and a sink area and a bathroom (which my roommate and suitemates can sing and make noise in and won’t wake me up). So I’ve got it made dorm wise. Oh and did I mention my residence hall is supposedly haunted… cool right. That’s all cool and dandy, but it doesn’t keep my dorm from hating me. I’ll start with the long running problem of my posters…. They don’t stay up on the wall. Last year I had no problem I stuck on poster hangers and BAM they stuck up alllllll year. This year move in day I stick them up with poster sticky tabs (same ones I used last year) and no joke 10 minutes later they fall down. After me sticking them back up a dozen or so times I decide maybe I should tape them. So out comes scotch tape I stick them up and am happy to report that they stayed up for a whole day (at east) then they started falling again. Some of them stayed up and are still up but the problem child…
Yes that’s him the cute dino one (note the duct tape on the left hand corner). He never fails to fall down. Once a day I have to stick him back up. Even with duct tape he falls down, over, and over, and over, and over… well you get the picture I’m sure. On the upside he’s above my desk so when he falls he just flops on top of my books and stuff. It still irritates me.
And now the best part of all the fun…. The bathroom ceiling now drips on you!!! Yay! And it’s a pretty tiny cause it’s just the toilet and tub. So pretty much anywhere you stand you get dripped on. I’m praying that it’s not like toilet water or something gross.
Other then that my dorm rocks.

Today's my day!
Have you ever had one of hose days where everything goes your way? Well that was my today! It was the dead line for my study abroad application. I walked into the advisors office and she was like okay what do you have for me. Because up until then I had only submitted the first part of my application and had my teachers write recommendations for me. So I take out my folder and stat putting everything in the right order and she’s asking me questions you like if I have this or that filled out right. And I’m like of course. Then she starts asking me about if I sent in stuff for my AIFS which is the company I’m going with and I explained how I had everything but my transcript. And she said she could fax over the one that she had of mine and I told her it was okay cause I sent un unofficial transcript and let my advisor there know and she was totally impressed. I was happy that I had done everything right! Then she asked for my GPA and I was like 3.5 and she was taken aback and she said good job to me…. I guess my GPA is a big deal. I know I can do better… but a lot of people I know on campus don’t have anything near mine… but alas I’m one of those nerds that LOVES school.
That was another thing. She wanted to know how many credits I was taking and I said 15. She’s like we recommend you take 12 but 15 is okay. I just don’t want to hear that you have to study the whole time. I assured her that I was one of those kids that loves school and studying and my 4 classes won’t be a big deal. Which of course I’m totally excited about! I mean come on four months in Europe!!! Whoot!! I’m starting to make lists of what I want to do and where I want to go! I’m beyond excited!!! I’m be leaving in three months and 2 days!!! I seriously can’t wait!!
Okay and here are some totally awesome pictures of the University of Limerick where I’ll be going!!

Another Game of Catch Up
It seems I’ve forgotten how to blog… oops. I’ve been majorly busy though… so you know what that means, it means a loooong post and fun updates.
1) Basically since the last week of summer I’ve been getting ready for school then it was the first few weeks of school crammed together. So I’ve been getting into the swing of things, doing homework and what not. But it’s all good. My classes are super fun. I’m taking Chem 1, Anatomy and Physiology, Revolutionary Era Europe, World War one and U.S. History till 1877. They’re all really cool, I totally like my Europe class cause we’re focusing on the French Revolution now. Sooo cool! And I have a very good roommate this year. She’s super nice and polite and isn’t loud when she comes in at night. So my life is pretty much made. And my suitemates are nice too!
2) These last two and a half weeks I’ve been running around like a chicken with it’s head chopped off. Why you ask? Because I’m trying to go abroad next semester. So I’ve been rushing to get my application in. it’s all due Friday… eeek! But I’m pretty much done with it all. So it’s all good. Plus it’s Ireland. I mean come on Ireland. How super cool right. I’ll be at the University of Limerick! Whoot. I’ll be there for four full months from January 17 till May 17. Granted I have class way less then that. Classes will start January 24th and end may 14th. So I’m super psyched about that. I’ll keep you updated.
3) My birthday! I turned 20 yesterday! And it’s totally strange to think about it. Because I’m no longer a teenager now. And the next time that my age will start with a 1 is if I get to 100. Crazy right? It boggles my mind. It also gets me thinking that I’ll be starting a “real” life in a short year and a half! Yikes! But it’s also exciting you know the whole opening a new chapter to your life. So I’m totally down with it.
4) Edits. Edits. Edits. And then I finished edits and realized the rest of my series was shitty and that I had made so many changes to the first book that I needed to fix up and re outline the first series. Because no offence Quest Quartet but the second series is way better. Remember when I blogged about it last year. My epic outline on my wall. So that’s why the second series is put together so nicely. But it’s a good challenge. And so far it’s going nicely.
5) comparing schools. I’m still deciding on weather to put my effort in for another go at applying to NYU… I think I will because it will be a heck of a lot easier to graduate with my double major and now minor (in Irish Studies). While if I stay at Kean I’ll be lucky to graduate on time and no minor for me… so I’m trying to go for NYU. They’d better take me this time or I’m going to be so very angry! But it’ll all turn out just the way it’s supposed to so I’m actually chill with whatever. I’ll be living in the city next year anyway. I’m getting a flat with friends.
And I think that’s all I’ll bore you with for now!
Laters,
P.S. this is my 100th post! Whoot!!
