12 Flights 7 Weeks: London Round 3

I was thinking of doing a post on the history of Morocco… then I lost the motivation for that shit. So I’m just going to move on to the next stage in my adventure. It consisted of London, Rome and Edinburgh in a weekend! Well that’s a bit of a lie. The weekend ended in Edinburgh.

So first things first I was back in London! For the third time! Wooo! I got in at about 1am from Fez. I was meeting my best friend Kelly at 8am so it wasn’t worth me going into the city for a few hours of sleep. So I decided to indulge my favourite past time and stay the night in the airport! Although this was the first time I ever had a second thought on it. My main second thought being what if i really need the bathroom and I can't gather my stuff fast enough? If you remeber I'm still recovering at the moment.

I went to the Costa Coffee in Stansted (they let you sleep there! They don’t yell at you for sleeping on the couches or in my case putting my head on the table). I also proudly ate my first full meal in over a week of a BLT and a seltzer water. It took me over an hour to eat because after each bite I’d have to sit and see if I felt like vomiting. I proudly kept it down! My last bout of Vomiting was now officially about 12 hours behind me. And I didn’t have the urge to run to the bathroom every 5 minutes. This might sound like small things but trust me at this point I was over the moon and was totally like I can take on the fucking world! Of course that totally didn’t happen but it counted.

So I updated my journal and napped a bit before going to find the UK arrivals. The signs at Stansted are so misleading!  They’re all like go this way. Keep going this way. Then BAM! Security! So I had to ask Airport staff. Turns out you walk outside and in the next door down and it’s this tiny ass waiting hall. But I made K-Studs a sign and waited! And there she was and we had our coffee on the bus ride into Victoria.

We dropped our shit at our hostel. We stayed at the same place I was in last time I was in London. It’s perfectly situated honestly. A few minutes walk from Victoria  Coach Station and perfect for walking from one end of London city centre to the other and seeing everything!!

So off we went to see my favourite city in the world! It was a task but I held it together. And I've had Kelly tell me that I powered through it like a champ. Because the whole time I was dying on the inside.

We obviously had to hit up all the main sites. I sort of made a b-line for Trafalgar because not only is it the most wonderful place in the whole world but it also has public bathrooms.

After a not so quick bathroom break Kelly and I headed into the National Gallery. It was here that I was crashing hard. So I took every opportunity to take a seat and "admire the paintings". You know when you've been really sick and then every bit of physical exertion feels like you're moving a mountain.... Yeah my legs felt like jelly at this point. But there was more to see!!

We made it all the way to the Tower of London!

Even though I was sick I was still full of fun facts. But I was thrilled when we made it back to our hostel and we check in and then went to the bar/common room for dinner. Kelly had a beer and a burger. I had french fries and ate about 5 before I was full. It was depressing because i really wanted to be hungry but I wasn't.

So it was a rather depressing first night in London since I was ready to go to sleep early and poor Kelly just wanted to hang out and I was like nope sleepy time.

But the next day was a major turning point. We woke up and headed off for a delish breakfast. We split a full English Breakfast and smoked salmon and cream cheese toast. I was ravenous and housed my half of the portions. It was amazing. Then off we went to see even more of the city!

We had Afternoon Tea. And saw a bit of the British Museum. Only the cool bits that we were actually interested in, none of the boring shit.

We took a stroll though Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park. And we saw Buckingham Palace and all things London.

The next day we bummed around a bit before heading to the airport because it was Rome time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers,

My Computer is a Dick

I’m getting around to finishing my travel blogs.  But first I’ve got to give you a heads up that from here on out there is going to be significantly fewer photos. Why? Because my lovely Felix (aka my computer) crashed hardcore.

I took him into the apple store and they rebooted him but I had to sacrifice everything. The guy working on Felix had never seen a Mac crash they way mine had. He couldn’t get my files. And the hard drive repaired but then Felix was all like no there is no hard drive here. And he argued with the apple guy for a bit. Felix ended up having the last laugh because he stole all my files and had to be set back to a blank slate. It sucked.

And what sucked even more was I didn’t have anything but my manuscript backed up.  So I cried…. A lot for a whole day. And I sulked a bit. When I say a bit I mean a lot.

Then I decided I should check my mum’s computer to see if I had left any writing files on it.

Turns out I had everything backed up on her computer from when I got my Mac last year! So all I ended up losing was last years photos aka my grand adventure pictures. All I have are what I posted on Facebook and what’s on my phone…. But it shall suffice!

I’m still a bit depressed over losing a new YA book I had started. But it was only 20 some odd pages, nothing to really cry over since I’ve already restarted it and had all the important things written down in my inspiration notebook. No real harm done. The way I see it if I want super epic pictures again I’ll just have to go back….

So without further ado and without any more moping I shall finish up my posts!

Cheers,
