After my whirl wind few days with my friends they left and it was time to focus on getting Hunter off to school. So we did his college shopping and helped pack the car. Ohio sounds like it’s close to Jersey, after all you just have to drive through Pennsylvania. From our house to UNOH was about 9 hours. We drove 7 the first day and spent the night in Mansfield. Then we got up bright and early to drive the last 2 hours.
Since Hunter was accepted to the University of Northwestern Ohio I’d been giving him a hard time about it being a fake school. He’s going for auto mechanics and they go to school for 6 weeks and have a 2 week break all year round. So my jests involved both those points. He joined in too. As we got closer it looked like he was getting nervous and he off handedly said that it would be funny if we got to UNOH and it wasn’t actually a school. But we got there and it was indeed a school. A really cool school at that. The campus isn’t huge but it’s big. Bigger then Kean. And everyone has old cars, the type that Hunter likes. Needless to say he’s in heaven being at school there.
His “dorm” is really nice too. Now I use dorm loosely it’s more like an 8 person apartment. There are 2 dorms in each building…
There’s a communal kitchen,
Apparently no one coordinated before hand on who was bringing what.
A huge living room they share…
Then there are 2 people to a bedroom. Hunter and his roommate decided to bunt their room and make it into a video game den. It’s pretty nifty looking if you ask me.
Plus he gets free tickets to the dirt track in town. He’s already started classes and is having a blast. So I’m happy he’s enjoying college from the start.
Cheers,

And What Have You Done With Your Month?
I’ve been back in Jersey for one month and five days now. It’s strange really being here and not feeling at home. I’ve been working furiously on finishing my manuscript to send to DAW. But more importantly then that I’ve been looking for a place to live in London. You see I need an address before I can apply for my visa… so this makes me quite frantic. True I have 77 days till I plan to be in London but I like to be well prepared. So I’ve been searching the net for cheap, decent flats. Currently it looks like I’m getting a place Lexham Gardens in South Kensington. Pretty sweet right? I’m just working on the finer points of the lease with my *crosses fingers* future land lord. I feel pretty grown up right now.
I mean I’ve lived with my parents for 20 years now. I’ve never had to think about rent and if my minimum wage job will cover rent and food and cell phone bill and other such things. I’ve been trying to come up with a budget to follow. This is sort of hard since my mum need to know the USD value for everything so conversions are called for. It’s all a jumble of numbers in my head and thank god my parents are paying tuition.
What else have I been doing? As I mentioned, lots of edits getting put in. I’m nearly done. I’ll be printing it next week and sending it out as soon as I have enough money to send it. As this has taken me 6 years to get to this spot I am quite proud of myself. And I’m finally ready to let it go and send it into the world.
A month of doing two little things? Wrong. I cleaned out and set up the guest room. Why? Because my Czech housemate from last semester and my Nebraska friend came to visit. More on their visit to come in another blog… which is coming right up!!

College Kids
It’s week 9 here at UL which means the semester is more then half over since there are only 13 weeks in a semester. Since it’s so late in the semester it mean it’s Paper Season. For those of you not in college Paper Season is the time in a semester when all your classes have assigned you a paper and they’re due within a few days of each other. UL is no different from Kean. Between today and next Thursday I have 4 papers due.
But I’m fine with that. I love writing and I picked cool essay topics so it’s no prob. Besides the papers are only 3,000 words! The problem lies in the fact that I’m a college kid. This means I’d rather pull an all nighter then work on my paper leisurely over a few weeks.
So here’s the low down on my paper I just handed in… I started it Wednesday and by started I mean I browsed the internet for sources then attempted to browse the library. Found nothing in the library and after a mere 45 minutes of “working” on my paper I gave up because the library here frustrated me.
Thursday afternoon I typed up the intro and decided what I was going to write about. I also pulled up a bunch of sources and articles. After doing that I felt so accomplished and since the day was so warm and wonderful I met up with my friends at Sables and we had a pint.
Then this morning I woke up for my 9 am class threw on clothes went to class and came back home. I promptly sat my self down at the computer, after all I only had 5 hours till the paper deadline and I only had 500 words done. So I feverishly wrote out the rest of my essay and finished in only 3 hours. Smiling to myself I proof read it then looked back at the question to make sure I’d answered it…
The Second World War is sometimes referred to as a ‘People’s War’. how appropriate is this term for Europe?
oops……
It was supposed to apply strictly to Europe. I included American statistics in it as well!! Once I took out things applying to America I was down 700 words…. I had less then 2 hours to finish it, walk to campus, print, and turn it in. needless to say I was panicked. But I work great under pressure… so naturally I pounded out the rest of my paper and turned it in 45 minutes early.

Schedules are Hell
I love learning more then I love breathing. There’s just something about gaining new knowledge that’s so enticing and addictive. And yet there’s always a black cloud on the horizon of a perfect opportunity to learn. Today that cloud is my schedule.
Honestly what is it with this university! There’s only one class of any given subject. And it seems that all the classes I want to take are at the same time on the same days. It’s hard as hell to choose between Irish Folklore and Criminal Law (I ended up picking Folklore). So making my timetable is the hardest thing I’ve done in my life so far. I swear the SATs were easier than this!!
It’s not just the lectures I have to make fit either. I’ll let you in on my pain and give you a crash course on classes at UL. You have to attend all the lectures for a given class. Now lectures are anywhere between one hour and four hours. Also they all have over 50 people (sometimes closer to 100) in them. Then after lectures and usually on a different day of the week you have to attend a tutorial. Tutorials are like re-runs of the lecture except with maybe 20 people in it and you can ask questions. On top of lectures and tutorials for my bio class I also have lab. Thank god I’m an exchange student because we can pick our tutorial group! It makes it a wee bit easier but it’s still a chore.
For instance right now I have four classes picked and every part of them works out, granted I’m walking out of one class at 11 and walking straight to another class that starts at 11, but they still work! The down side? I need one more class and I cannot find a single one that fits! It’s like the god of the timetable is hell bent on making me crazy before giving me a good class.
So I’m going to take a deep breath… and another one… and go to bed. Perhaps tomorrow when I wake up I’ll be able to look through 75 pages of classes offered this spring and find an interesting one I have yet to spot that fits my schedule. So cross your fingers that my 10th read through of the brochure will shed some light into the pits of schedule making hell.

The Kean I Know
Hi all. Happy Holidays.
So I thought I’d do this post. I’ve sort of been working on it for a while. The last feel weeks of school I’ve been taking my camera to class and I’ve been taking pictures of campus. So in honor of me moving out last Thursday here’s the Kean I know!

Insert Title Here
I’ve been working on my paper for my Revolutionary Era Europe class since I got the assignment two weeks ago. All I have written is the intro and conclusion. Now mind you I have an outline to go with it… I just haven’t written it. Why? I have Quotes to back my points up. I have the research. I have more then enough nifty ideas to tie it all together. So what’s holding me back? I can’t come up with a title I find suitable. It’s one of my downfalls I suppose… I can’t write a paper without first giving it an epic title. I can’t write a book without giving it a mindblowinly epic title. Sure I’ll change it but it needs a title for me to invest my time in it. I feel that if something doesn’t have a title and I’m going to be investing my time into it then I’m sort of afraid that I’ll drop it and move onto something else. So now I’m trying to come up with a title for my paper or else i'll be leaving it till tomorrow night and i don't want to do that.

The state of your life is nothing more than a reflection of your state of mind
“The state of your life is nothing more than a reflection of your state of mind” ~Dr. Wayne Dyer
Now… incase you all haven’t gotten it I’m pretty much the most positive person I know. I take a lot of shit and still come out on top. Why? Because Karma aka what goes around comes around. If people are shitty to me that’s there issue and they’ll have to deal with the consequences when they come. So that’s why I care very little about other’s opinions. Be my guest and bad mouth me, I really don’t care. Also I’ve gotten my fair share of rejections (with my novel and college) but that’s all good, sure I cried a wee bit but I keep positive because if you’re positive and send out positive vibes then you’ll attract positive things. Besides smiling and being positive is a heck of a lot more fun then frowning al day. Finally all of my positiveness in negative spots and my build up of karma points is getting me places. No surprise by the way.
I’m going abroad next semester. That makes me super excited. I’ve been preparing my application (for the 3rd time) for NYU. Now all of that has been going smoothly. BUT!!!!! I’ve decided to give up on my dream of going to NYU…. Actually let me change that a bit cause I’m not given up entirely on NYU…. Um let’s see…. I’ve changed my dream (yes I like the way change sounds there). I’ve decided NYU shall be where I get my PhD in History. Yay for me! And for my final two years of college I’m applying to London Metropolitan University. Pretty cool right. They even have a Forensic Science major!! Whoop! And I’ll be in England, somewhere I’ve always wanted to live. So I’m applying there… sorry NYU…. And I’ll be able to get an internship with the London Metropolitan Police. SO my new plan is to live over there finish college there and work for a year or two in the London forensic department of the PD then transfer to the NYPD move back to the states and start my PhD! Whoop! And I’m so super hyper and excited about this!
Now that I’ve talked your ear off I’m done! Hahaha. Have a fantastic day!

My Dorm Hates Me
My dorm really honestly hates me…. Now don’t get me wrong I love living on campus and my dorm this year pretty much kicks ass. It’s apartment style so I’ve got a living room, a full size fridge and a sink area and a bathroom (which my roommate and suitemates can sing and make noise in and won’t wake me up). So I’ve got it made dorm wise. Oh and did I mention my residence hall is supposedly haunted… cool right. That’s all cool and dandy, but it doesn’t keep my dorm from hating me. I’ll start with the long running problem of my posters…. They don’t stay up on the wall. Last year I had no problem I stuck on poster hangers and BAM they stuck up alllllll year. This year move in day I stick them up with poster sticky tabs (same ones I used last year) and no joke 10 minutes later they fall down. After me sticking them back up a dozen or so times I decide maybe I should tape them. So out comes scotch tape I stick them up and am happy to report that they stayed up for a whole day (at east) then they started falling again. Some of them stayed up and are still up but the problem child…
Yes that’s him the cute dino one (note the duct tape on the left hand corner). He never fails to fall down. Once a day I have to stick him back up. Even with duct tape he falls down, over, and over, and over, and over… well you get the picture I’m sure. On the upside he’s above my desk so when he falls he just flops on top of my books and stuff. It still irritates me.
And now the best part of all the fun…. The bathroom ceiling now drips on you!!! Yay! And it’s a pretty tiny cause it’s just the toilet and tub. So pretty much anywhere you stand you get dripped on. I’m praying that it’s not like toilet water or something gross.
Other then that my dorm rocks.

Another Game of Catch Up
It seems I’ve forgotten how to blog… oops. I’ve been majorly busy though… so you know what that means, it means a loooong post and fun updates.
1) Basically since the last week of summer I’ve been getting ready for school then it was the first few weeks of school crammed together. So I’ve been getting into the swing of things, doing homework and what not. But it’s all good. My classes are super fun. I’m taking Chem 1, Anatomy and Physiology, Revolutionary Era Europe, World War one and U.S. History till 1877. They’re all really cool, I totally like my Europe class cause we’re focusing on the French Revolution now. Sooo cool! And I have a very good roommate this year. She’s super nice and polite and isn’t loud when she comes in at night. So my life is pretty much made. And my suitemates are nice too!
2) These last two and a half weeks I’ve been running around like a chicken with it’s head chopped off. Why you ask? Because I’m trying to go abroad next semester. So I’ve been rushing to get my application in. it’s all due Friday… eeek! But I’m pretty much done with it all. So it’s all good. Plus it’s Ireland. I mean come on Ireland. How super cool right. I’ll be at the University of Limerick! Whoot. I’ll be there for four full months from January 17 till May 17. Granted I have class way less then that. Classes will start January 24th and end may 14th. So I’m super psyched about that. I’ll keep you updated.
3) My birthday! I turned 20 yesterday! And it’s totally strange to think about it. Because I’m no longer a teenager now. And the next time that my age will start with a 1 is if I get to 100. Crazy right? It boggles my mind. It also gets me thinking that I’ll be starting a “real” life in a short year and a half! Yikes! But it’s also exciting you know the whole opening a new chapter to your life. So I’m totally down with it.
4) Edits. Edits. Edits. And then I finished edits and realized the rest of my series was shitty and that I had made so many changes to the first book that I needed to fix up and re outline the first series. Because no offence Quest Quartet but the second series is way better. Remember when I blogged about it last year. My epic outline on my wall. So that’s why the second series is put together so nicely. But it’s a good challenge. And so far it’s going nicely.
5) comparing schools. I’m still deciding on weather to put my effort in for another go at applying to NYU… I think I will because it will be a heck of a lot easier to graduate with my double major and now minor (in Irish Studies). While if I stay at Kean I’ll be lucky to graduate on time and no minor for me… so I’m trying to go for NYU. They’d better take me this time or I’m going to be so very angry! But it’ll all turn out just the way it’s supposed to so I’m actually chill with whatever. I’ll be living in the city next year anyway. I’m getting a flat with friends.
And I think that’s all I’ll bore you with for now!
Laters,
P.S. this is my 100th post! Whoot!!

Summer Update
Apparently I have a lot to catch you all up on. it’s been nearly a month. Props to me and my summer lazyness on updating my blog. So it’ll be jumpy… but fun.
Honestly I’ve been productive otherwise. For instance I’m now 70 something pages into my edits on part one. I’ve deleted lots and lots but not to worry I’ve changed some plot lines which means I’ve got lots of addin in to do. But it’s slow work. Like I feel really, really inspired but I sit down to edit and I feel blocked. It’s this one part that I just feel like taking out all together but it’s half of the first part and I basically need it later on otherwise Myles can’t join the quest. So I have to deal with it and wade through the stuff I don’t feel like editing. It’ll get better…
I finished my friend’s book I was running edits on. it was short so now I feel bad that he has to read all of mine… I’ll probably tell him that he can stop after the first part if he wants. Anyhow, it was a good read and I liked the plot line. But it was short and fast, I’m usually a fan of the longer fantasy books. but that’s just me.
I’ve been going to my writers group every Tuesday since I got here! It’s so awesome to go. Like for serious I love it. I love what people have to say about my work. Because I’m the youngest person there, everyone else are like my parents age. And basically they don’t read fantasy so it’s always interesting to have them read my stuff. It’s usually grammar they pick out. And I always need grammar help.
I picked out my classes for the fall! Whoot! I’m taking Chemistry I, Human Anatomy and Biology, Photography I, U.S. History Till 1877, and The Tudor, Stewart Age. Pretty awesome right? I wanted to take a Japanese history course… but alas I figured Anatomy would look better on my transfer application. I’m still waiting to hear back from res life to see where I’m living. I’m crossing my finger that my roommate isn’t a douche like last year. I’m also hoping that I’ll be in the New Upperclassman dorms.
I haven’t gotten my new compy yet cause I’m waiting for my check from the insurance money. So I’m still fighting with my old one which is angering me quite thoroughly. Why you ask? Because I have two options to type with. 1: Type with a frozen screen and smack it ever couple of lines to look at the newly typed stuff. Or 2: hold the screen so it works with one hand and type with the other. Neither are very fun. But I’m dealing with it till I get my check. But there are some very nice days that it agrees with me and I don’t need to hold it for it to work and not freeze. Like right now it’s being nice… which means I should probably be editing instead of blogging but I’ve neglected this long enough…
The beach has been ever so good to me. I’ve already read three books. I’ll be doing a book review on them soon enough. I finally have time to catch up and read Laini Taylor’s books that came out during the school year. So that’s super good.
I’ve officially become a super nerd. My brothers and I have recently become quite the addicts to Magic the Gathering. I’ve got a red-white deck and it’s super fun to play.
I’ll stop there for today least I make your eyes bleed with my boring rant! Enjoy your summer!

Hello 3.5
I just went on to check my grades for this semester. I nailed every class. Got 2 As and 3 Bs. I’m so excited! I was iffy on my Modernization in Asia class. I could have sworn I was going to get a C but I pulled a B out of somewhere… so I’m quite happy with myself! And I’ll excited that I did so good this semester. But my GPA is a 3.500… and I’m supposed to have a 3.6 to transfer to NYU… so I’m hoping that a 3.5 is close enough. I’m still waiting to hear back. It should legit be any day cause they said I should hear back by the middle of May and ya it’s the middle of my… what fun.
And oh goody I’m back to drawing more maps… I think I have an obsession with them I just sketched out a map of the districts on Temple. Hehehe it’s for the Final Thread Quartet but I was writing a scene today that I needed districts for so I thought what the heck I’ll just draw the whole thing now. so I did and I rather like it. So I’m going back to finishing up the scene…
I downloaded the new 30 Seconds to Mars CD and I’m basically addicted to the song This Is War. It’s basically epic. Like so epic I had to rewrite a death scene cause it inspired me to make it super epic. Haha. Below is a AMV I’m totally in love with… and it’s to This is War… so ya… it’s awesome
Now onto even more awesome news. It’s funny actually. Because last week I had put on my status of facebook that I wanted someone to Beta my manuscript. And I got two replies. One was from a friend and another was from a guy from my writing group. So I sent it to both and I feel so important now because my friend from my writer’s group proposed we do a swap. So now I’m a Beta for his manuscript! It’s very exciting. And I’m totally digging his novel so far its legit interesting.

Happy Summer!
Hi all! Happy summer! So I have a lot to catch you all up on. first off I have been out of school for almost a week now. It’ll be a week tomorrow. And it feels totally amazing to have finished my first year of school. I’m just waiting for all my grades now. I have my Bio and Algebra grades both of which are Bs and I’m very proud of myself. I enjoyed writing my Nazi Era Germany paper… good story about that we had a source reader for with all sorts of things that we had to read for the semester and I was supposed to get the format for the paper along with a bunch of information about the topic from it. And I had made the mistake of sending it home on Monday when my mum was helping me move most of my room out. So I just sort of just made it up as I went with the in-text citations. When I got home I looked in the source reader and I had done it right. Lol. It was APA format even though my professor said that it wasn’t APA. Yay! Plus it was just downright fun to write. I loved that class a lot.
It was really funny when I was walking off campus it’s one of those moments when you know you’re done with that part of your life. Most of the time you never feel or see a part of your life ending but something you can’t help but totally see them. And I was really happy that I finished my freshman year without getting kicked out or dropping out. And now I’m just waiting for my letter from NYU… I should be hearing back this week... cause the website said that I’d hear back in the middle of may at the latest.
So onto the pictures from my signing! I lost my camera chord… so I can’t upload them yet.. haha
Things I won’t miss about my roommate.
1) Her smelly clothes
2) Her loud music
3) Her singing to her music
4) Her habit of not cleaning her side of the room5) Her leaving the door unlocked
6) Her slamming doors when I’m sleeping
7) Her talking on the phone while I’m sleeping8) Her having friend in the room while I’m sleeping
9) Her over all rudeness
10) Her changing clothes when I’m sitting at my computer
11) Her friends just walking into the room like they live here
1) Her sharing textbooks with me
2) Her not being in the room all the time

Endings
I realized today as I was walking out of my writing class that this semester was what college really is. Don’t get me wrong my first semester was fine and I loved it… but this semester really has me addicted to college. I took classes I wanted, not the ones I was told I needed to take (seriously worst orientation/ schedule making first semester. I was handed a list and told to take the classes there. Dumb.). I enjoyed every single class I took. I didn’t have to wake up early. I made friends. I was tight with my RA. And I’m sad it’s all ending. Six days till I’m done here. I won’t have to commute back for any classes (all my finals got moved to early next week) and I’m done. It’s sort of sad in a way cause I’m not coming back in the fall I’ll be at NYU. So for me it’s really strange. My suitemate is all excited for the summer break and how nice it’s going to be to be off campus for a few months and I’m like I’m never coming back. It’s like high school graduation… but different. like wacky different cause I’m changing schools and it’s not the high school to college school change it’s from one college to another… so I’m a bit wacked out about that…. Even though I’m still waiting for my NYU acceptance letter…. I still feel like I’m done here and not coming back.
And today was my last day of my writing class. And to be honest it was sad (I’m a dork I know). It’s strange because this whole semester I’d known that Writing 2020 was my favorite class and it wasn’t because of what we were learning or the essays we wrote, I mean ya those were fun, but what made the class was my teacher. She was such a huge influence! Like we would talk about things in class and I was like wow… that makes a lot of sense and she assigned us only two essays the whole semester but damn if those things didn’t challenge me and teach me something. And I realized while I was walking back from class (which btw it’s a beautiful day) I was thinking there have been very few teacher that I’ve had that actually TEACH me something. Ya I learn things but usually I forget it after a while. My writing teacher actually taught me things and it’s funny cause I’ve only ever had one other teacher who taught me something and that was my Creative Writing teacher senior year. Hmmm…. I see a trend… both teachers taught me writing… haha. But really that’s all my life is honestly and when someone can open my eyes to my writing and help me improve it’s the best thing in the world and that’s really what I got out of my writing course. By writing both the Literacy Narrative and the Process Narrative I sort of found out what my writing was and now I’m working on improving it all and it’s all cause of my writing teacher. I know there are people in my life that I was just destined to meet and my writing teacher was one of them. Sitting here writing this long rant makes me think even more about how the semester is over and my classes are over and when I walk out of my classes next week… I’m done. It feels liberating to have finished my freshman year in such a fantastic way!
So here is one more list… I think I forgot to mention. But Whiteman was my dorm this year. Lol and I was on the third floor… hence my lists… lol.
What I won’t miss about Whiteman 3rd floor
1) People deciding it’s okay to be super loud at 3 a.m.
2) People playing Frisbee in the hall
3) All the nice people who kept breaking the washing machine… yeah thanks
4) People slamming doors late at night
5) All the stupid annoying rude people
6) People being rude at floor meetings
7) The VERY loud dryer

Oh goody! I get to start my lists sooner! Cause in two weeks I will be moving out! And I will be done with kean forever! Whoooot! But before I post my first list I would just like to say how totally awesome my RA is. She knocked on my door yesterday and gave me a tulip! Cause she had done spring spruce up day and they were cutting flowers in one of the gardens. So it totally made my day. doesn’t it look pretty! Lol in my intercourse mug…. Rofl.
So my first list….
What classes I’ll miss
1) Writing
2) Nazi Era Germany Pre Holocaust
3) Biology 1000 (only cause it was super easy!)
4) Sociology

Spring and Music
Just thought I’d let you all know that I’m doing some amazing editing lately! So I’m setting myself a goal for April. I’d like to finish editing Part I by the end of April… I’d love to have Part II done as well… but alas I must be realistic…. Any how I was a little sad this morning because I did not have my Nazi Era Germany class. *tear* so I have to wait a whole week till the next one. So I only have Algebra tonight… should probably hop on doing that homework…. Eh I have four hours to do it. Haha.
And just a side note… I’ve been totally addicted to the band All Time Low lately… I’ve been ligit listening to them every day since I got one of their older albums from Spencer over spring break! And it’s nice and sunny out today, a little windy but soooo nice! I’m so happy that it’s finally spring and that I can walk around on campus without having to bundle up. I <3 spring!

Fun Post
Okie dokie… I’ve been slacking lately with blogs. But I’ve been busy with getting my application finished up for NYU. I just need Kean to stop being dumb! Grr. But it’s all good spring break start tonight at after my late bio class. My mum is being nice and coming to pick me up! Whoot! I’m pretty pumped for the break I get to go home and relax and sleep in and not have a loud roommate wake me up at 10:30 in the morning! I'm also going to redo my website! Yay! I also plan on doing a butt load of edits and I’ll be finishing my Writing Process Narrative. A rough draft is due today… ya I’m stumped about a page in… I’ve got a bunch of free writing we did in class and blogs we posted but I can’t seem to pull it all together. Plus It’s hard to try and look at my writing process and still write without getting distracted and I can’t come up with the type of deep thoughts my professor if looking for. So it’s annoying especially since all I do is write. Any how BIG BIG news! I got in my books (all 200 of them) for my sighing I’m setting up in a few weeks. As soon as I get a date I’ll post it I promise. So I’m waaay excited about that. I’m also excited cause last weekend when I was home I bought two new albums, Kutless – It is Well and Sidewalk Prophets – These Simple Turths. I totally love them! And Bullet For My Valentine’s new album Fever comes out April 27! I sooo cannot wait! Their song they have out Begging For Mercy totally rocks! And I was looking at my friend’s Facebooks yesterday and my brother had posted this cover on his friend’s wall. I laughed my butt off.
So yup… I think that’s just about all that’s new…

Delayed Opening....
Hi,
Delayed openings aren’t much fun in college… they totally rocked in high school. Guess it evens out with the whole snow days being better and all. But basically this is how it goes… I get a call at 5:20 this morning letting me know that we have a delayed opening and classes won’t start till 11 o’clock. Ya waste of my time to listen to the call cause my earliest class was 2 o’clock. Gooood game. Not. So it didn’t matter to me. In high school delayed openings are fun cause you get to sleep in. I sleep in every day at college so it makes no difference to me. But campus was cleaned up quite nicely today… check out the pics.
Wish me luck on my trek to the train station in the morning… I’m going home again. I know I’m getting to be one of those losers that goes home every weekend. Haha. But after this weekend I won’t be home for a while. Plus it’s a four day weekend for me! Whoot!

College and Edits
Hi Hi,
Over the last few day’s I’ve been slipping back into college mode, winter break totally threw me off. So I’ve been going to classes which all my classes this semester are FANTASTIC!!! And don’t know if any of you all noticed but I made a new blog. It’s for my writing course. I’m tots def psyched about that class cause I’m hoping it’ll help me sharpen my skills a bit. And I’m sooo excited about the name of it cause I wanted to choose a cool, witty, intriguing, title and it kept eluding me till I looked over my outlines for my series. I borrowed the title for the last book in the second series. Muhahaha I felt so clever! Only down side of all my awesome new classes is the fact that I’m going to have a huge work load this semester so I’m a little tense because that’s cutting into my editing time on The Snowy Waste. But I’m still going for it. I’m only 14 pages in right now which is a bit sad. I keep agonizing over the beginning. Cause I’ll get an awesome idea and modify it then when I go back to it it just looked mucked up… so I just gave up on it yesterday and started working through the rest of it seeing as I have so much to do! It’s almost twice the amount of pages of A Colorless Myth and that took me about three months of hardcore editing to work through it three times… so I’ve gotta get cracking if I want to send it out this spring. But I suppose I should make Fridays my intense writing day since I have no classes… actually that’s a superb idea! Oh man I love when I’m smart! So I just hope I can edit. Edit. Edit. And Edit some more so I can send it to Daw. Because Daw doesn’t require queries I just have to send in my whole manuscript sooooo….. ya…. I’m totally looking forward to printing over 300 pages. Hahahaha what a party! So I’m probably going to edit and put off my boring Algebra homework. It’s seriously easy stuff so whoever is in college and can’t factor I will personally smack you because it’s so easy it’s boring. Wish me luck on edits!

What type of writer am I?
Happy Friday!
The best thing about college is picking your classes and this semester every weekend is like a three day weekend!! YAY! Any how I had my writing class yesterday and we had a prompt that we had to write and the prompt was to describe what type of writer we were. I was stumped! So I just went off on a tangent of what writing was to me. Then we had to share. So everyone was like “I’m a passionate writer” “I’m a technical writer” “I’m a procrastinating” “I’m an emotional writer”. Then some people also went off on little tangents about writing so I didn’t feel so stupid sharing mine.
Being a writer is something that I had idealized. When I was younger my mum would read to me and I loved it. I loved the stories the words wove even though I could not read them. When I had gotten older I learned that someone had written those books. That each book had been an idea in someone’s head at one point and that was so cool to me. Elementary school was full of writing but it was meaningless writing meant only to teach us how to write first in print then in cursive. Next was middle school and essays began to be assigned. That was when I began to hate writing because being dyslexic made spelling difficult for me and spelling always counted. Those three words “spelling always counts” became a phrase that I hated because it always condemned me to a bad grade. So I turned to books where the spelling was always correct and the far off lands made me forget I hated writing. Then the summer between seventh and eighth grade came about and my older brother and younger brother began drawing maps and going on about how they were going to write books. I decided I wanted to do the same so I started planning and drawing maps for this book I wanted to write. Then it came to putting pen to paper and actually writing it out. As soon as the world I was writing began to take shape I lost my self in my writing and I forgot that I hated essays. Writing my book was something fun and it did not matter that I spelled things wrong while I wrote it in my notebook. I would fix all of that later. My previous hate for writing had been washed away that summer so when I went back to school in the fall I was ready for whatever academic writing they had to pile on me. Academic writing no longer bothered me (even if spelling counted) because I had my world to slip into after school… or during class. Now it seems that all I do is write. It’s what makes waking up in the morning worth it!
TA DA! And there you have it… it doesn’t answer the question as to what type of writer I am but I liked it anyway. I still don’t know what type of writer I am… passionate. Of course I love my work… emotional. Heck ya I get so attached to my character… inspirational. I suppose I mean I inspire myself… mood. Indeed after all if I’m not in the mood I can’t write… procrastinating. Not so much after all I write all day it seems. So I suppose I’m a mix of a lot of “writer” types. I don’t write because I have to. I write because I want to. I don’t write for anyone other than myself. I enjoy ever minute of writing. So what type of writer am I? and my answer to that is ……
That’s a very good question I’ll let you know as soon as I find out!

Second Semester Whoot! and Raven-ness
Good Evening,
Laters,
T.V.
P.S. Here’s a part of Cry of The Raven….
“Oh. Anything interesting?” he asked trying to sound uninterested.
Today was my first day of classes and I had bio tonight 7:30-10:15. I was tots def scared that I would do horrible in the class because I last took bio junior year of high school. Turns out I was afraid for nothing. My professor asked me to stop answering questions so other people would have a chance. I guess that means I’m going to breeze through this class! Yay! Plus it helped remind me why I’m going to be majoring in bio… cause it’s awesome!!!!! Hahaha. Needless to say I’m very excited about this semester. I can’t wait for tomorrow I have two classes Nazi-Era Germany Pre Holocaust (can anyone say AWESOME!!!) at 1:55 and Algebra at 6:00. So over all a very nice day. Oh and in case you didn’t notice I redid my blog…. Again…. It’s just way to much fun to change the appearance. Oh so while I was slacking all day I wrote some awesomeness for Cry of The Raven/ Quest Quartet because Cry of The Raven overlaps hehe. Aaaaaaannnnnnndddddddd ya I think that’s it for now…
Laters,
T.V.
The silver washed city lay out in front of Raven, candles burned in some windows while others were black. A sigh escaped his lips as he tilted his head to the left… then the right… the castle was directly in every window. “What a waste… those candles could be in the dark houses of peasants who can hardly pay your damn taxes.” Raven muttered through gritted teeth. They would pay soon enough. It was only a matter of time till the castle was cleansed of the filth that lived there currently. A small smile crept onto his face as he stood on the slate roof. “Only a matter of time.” he said. The assassin moved along the roof and jumped through the gaping hole that lead to the ruined choir loft. He landed silently then walked to the edge where he could look down at the main floor.
Some old pews remained in place with moth eaten cushions, but most of them had been removed from the floor when the small gang of assassins had moved in. Colored patterns of moonlight washed the creaky and decaying floorboards. Raven let his eyes wander to the stained glass windows. Many panes of colored glass remained in their lead fixtures, but some of the panes had been broken and jagged bits of color marked the spots. The pulpit was washed in candle light and Raven saw his friends sitting around a table strewn with parchment. He smiled, they were always the diligent workers.
Quietly the black haired man walked down the spiral staircase to the main floor. He moved silently across the floor. After so many years of living in the abandoned church he knew which floorboards to avoid and which spots to jump. No one jumped when he came into the pool of candle light. The four assassins were used to their friend coming from the shadows. “Rave, take a look at this. We found some old texts in the basement that talk of the Royal family.” Elise said pointing to the dusty pieces of parchment on the table. His heart clenched a little in fear as he saw everyone reading. “Oh. Anything interesting?” he asked trying to sound uninterested.
P.P.S. I wanted a visual to sort of go with Raven's hide out. So Ii googled. and i found this site. And i LOVE the pictures. They are tots def what I had in mind.
