Endings

I realized today as I was walking out of my writing class that this semester was what college really is. Don’t get me wrong my first semester was fine and I loved it… but this semester really has me addicted to college. I took classes I wanted, not the ones I was told I needed to take (seriously worst orientation/ schedule making first semester. I was handed a list and told to take the classes there. Dumb.). I enjoyed every single class I took. I didn’t have to wake up early. I made friends. I was tight with my RA. And I’m sad it’s all ending. Six days till I’m done here. I won’t have to commute back for any classes (all my finals got moved to early next week) and I’m done. It’s sort of sad in a way cause I’m not coming back in the fall I’ll be at NYU. So for me it’s really strange. My suitemate is all excited for the summer break and how nice it’s going to be to be off campus for a few months and I’m like I’m never coming back. It’s like high school graduation… but different. like wacky different cause I’m changing schools and it’s not the high school to college school change it’s from one college to another… so I’m a bit wacked out about that…. Even though I’m still waiting for my NYU acceptance letter…. I still feel like I’m done here and not coming back.

And today was my last day of my writing class. And to be honest it was sad (I’m a dork I know). It’s strange because this whole semester I’d known that Writing 2020 was my favorite class and it wasn’t because of what we were learning or the essays we wrote, I mean ya those were fun, but what made the class was my teacher. She was such a huge influence! Like we would talk about things in class and I was like wow… that makes a lot of sense and she assigned us only two essays the whole semester but damn if those things didn’t challenge me and teach me something. And I realized while I was walking back from class (which btw it’s a beautiful day) I was thinking there have been very few teacher that I’ve had that actually TEACH me something. Ya I learn things but usually I forget it after a while. My writing teacher actually taught me things and it’s funny cause I’ve only ever had one other teacher who taught me something and that was my Creative Writing teacher senior year. Hmmm…. I see a trend… both teachers taught me writing… haha. But really that’s all my life is honestly and when someone can open my eyes to my writing and help me improve it’s the best thing in the world and that’s really what I got out of my writing course. By writing both the Literacy Narrative and the Process Narrative I sort of found out what my writing was and now I’m working on improving it all and it’s all cause of my writing teacher. I know there are people in my life that I was just destined to meet and my writing teacher was one of them. Sitting here writing this long rant makes me think even more about how the semester is over and my classes are over and when I walk out of my classes next week… I’m done. It feels liberating to have finished my freshman year in such a fantastic way!

So here is one more list… I think I forgot to mention. But Whiteman was my dorm this year. Lol and I was on the third floor… hence my lists… lol.

What I won’t miss about Whiteman 3rd floor
1) People deciding it’s okay to be super loud at 3 a.m.
2) People playing Frisbee in the hall
3) All the nice people who kept breaking the washing machine… yeah thanks
4) People slamming doors late at night
5) All the stupid annoying rude people

Catch Up!

Oops… sorry I’ve been bust and I know I promised a list a day… so I’ll make up with posting the lists at the end. I have other stuff to catch you up on first. Mainly last Friday I had my visit at Voorhees. It went reallllly good. I read from A Colorless Myth and then I explained about publishing then I did Q&A. Now let me tell you I talked to a senior creative writing class so most of the kids knew me from when I went to school. And when I first started the Q&A no one raised their hand, it was probably for just a few seconds but it felt like hours for me and I started to panic/ come up with more stuff to talk about. Then a girl raised her hand and after that it went awesomely. It made me so happy. I was so happy cause someone asked me about my Series and so I had a small rant on that and it was fun. The forty minute class period went super fast. Like I was afraid going in that I wouldn’t have enough material to cover the whole time but it was just enough time. And my signing is this Saturday!!!!!!! I’m excited but a bit nervous too…. So I’m crossing my fingers that it goes well. Also I can’t find my camera charger!!!! So I don’ know if I’ll have pictures of it! Eek! So I’m going to search the house when I get home Friday cause it’s not in my dorm. Ugh! I hope I find it.

And I’ll be home this weekend for my signing obviously, but also my family and I are going to the Met Friday night for an opera! It’s a German one called Der Fliegende Holländer. Teaser

So as part of my writing class final portfolio i wrote a tesaer for The Snowy Waste and i thought i'd post it here!! Enjoy

The thriving country of Exyel slips into civil war after their national treasure The Armlet of Exyel is broken apart. It’s only hope of ever finding peace again lays in the hands of the prophesized Quest Quartet. In the first decades after the outbreak of war people were hopeful that these Questers would arise. But after 30,000 years of bloody battles the Quest Quartet is nothing but a child’s tale. Yet this does not faze three motley friends from taking up the task. Jamie Stean of Vanton, Nealock Jordan of Flar and Billy Bones set out from the small vineyard town of Flar to seek the only thing that will save their dying country. Although each has their own motive Billy’s is the purist because he, Sir Tantin Exyel, will remain in the form of a skeleton until his country once again resides in peace. So he joins up in hopes of bringing Exyel back to the magnificence it knew when he was king. The three leave in hopes that the tale of The Quest Quartet will be like the ones told by bards where they fought valiantly and conquered evil with no effort. What they never expected was for them to get swept up into a power struggle between Darkness and Queen Zayden'Ash of the Dragons. They did not foresee one them leaving to accomplish good for the quest and giving her life for it. Zayden'Ash is the savior of the motley group but also the puppeteer of it. She has the power to make the search for The Armlet an easy task yet she with holds her power in hopes of making The Quest Quartet a story to be told for an eternity. When the Quest Quartet threatens to fall to pieces will someone step up and push them toward finding the second piece? Or will they all fall to Darkness?

Random Update

Hey ya,

Happy Saturday! It’s quite a weird day… I mean it’s all windy and looks sort of cloudy… but I’m starting to see blue sky… I think the weather can’t makes its mind up. But whatever. So last night I posted the last chapter to my FanFic! It’s officially 25 chapters long and over 100,000 words. Wow. Yay for me and my loserness. But it’s way cool cause I’m getting all these comments from people about how good it was and how they are going to miss it. It’s like someone’s dying instead of a story ending. Haha. But I put up a poll to see what they wanted me to write next and a lot want a sequel… so we’ll see. But on the upside if I ever wanted to take the story line and make it a novel I’d already be like halfway there. Hahaha. Cause I do rather like the plot line. Lots of twists and almost death. Oh man when I posted making it look like one of the main characters died I got soooo many comments from people saying they were upset. And I just laughed cause I knew he didn’t die. Muahahaha I’m so evil. I do love character deaths though. Hehe. Mainly because no one ever see it coming and if they do then they’re like oh they’ll be coming back from the dead and I’m just like nope. They’re dead and I enjoy it. Yes I’m a bit weird. Oh and I’m starting to count the days down till the end of the semester! So just a heads up when it gets down to two weeks I got this grand idea to makes lists of stuff I would and wouldn’t miss so I’ll start posting those this coming Friday!! Yay. Oh just a random note I went through my facebook friends and just deleted 36 people cause I was like um… I’m friends with you… why? Or it was someone who was a major asshole. Lol I’m happy I don’t have a lot of friends on facebook cause in reality I don’t have many friends. Funny right? Any how enjoy your day!

MONDAY!!

Happy Monday!! Gosh I just love Mondays! I have writing class first thing which makes me ever so excited! And I’m working on my portfolio for being a fiction author and it’s pretty much the funnest assignment ever. Like right now I’m working on my assignment for next week. It’s a synopsis for The Snowy Waste. Muhahah. It’s so way fun. Plus all this writing about my writing is making me super pumped to edit. Which good news… I’ve decided to just take out a lot of stuff… so I’m down about 20 pages currently (and I’m only like half done with the cuts) but that’s okay cause I’m putting in more Raven sub-plot to make it even more mysterious and fun. That will probably just about cover the lost pages. But also I just came up with a super awesome new idea to add in which might make it longer… not sure yet…. I’m still fixing in where I’m going to add it and how it’ll give a lot away without giving away too much. Also I’m rewriting the prologue… muhahaha. I came up with an idea that will be super cryptic and exciting for the prologues of the Quest Quartet! So I’m reworking The Snowy Waste first. Ahh I feel so productive! Now all I to do is follow through on this productive stream…
